FFW Future Shock
Season Eight, Episode Seven - Season Finale
November 30, 2012

The FFW logo flashes across the screen before we hear “Bright Lights Bigger City” by Cee Lo Green begin to play as the opening theme opens inside a mostly empty subway station with posters hanging on the wall. We see a subway rush past as one by one each of the eight women competing in this season appear on the platform, looking from one to another until another train stops and they file in. Each of them looks around as the train rockets out of the station and we see glimpses of major cities around the world through the windows before each of the eight women look to be loosening up, the camera focusing on each of them as they invite the other to do something before the show cuts away to the Future Shock Season Eight logo.

We open inside FFW headquarters in Los Angeles, California. It’s the same familiar setting as has been seen in every Future Shock season finale, with a FFW ring situated in the room with training equipment dotting interior of the room as well. The Future Shock flag hangs over the ring, as large banners representing all seven of the previous champions hang over head. In the ring, the two finalists stand in preparation as the four Future Shock eliminations await around the ring on each side. We then hear the voices of the hosts welcoming us.

Mark: FFW faithful, we welcome you to what promises to be a historic night in FFW history. Where for the eighth time ever, we will crown a brand new Future Shock Champion! Welcome to FFW headquarters here in Los Angeles, California, the site of every Future Shock season finale. And tonight, the record breaking eighth season comes to its conclusion. I’m Mark Horton, and I’m joined by my usual partner in crime so to speak in Wolf Ramsey.

Wolf: Thank you Mark and boy do we have a big one tonight.  A brawler and a powerhouse go at it, but that’s not all, the wildcard factor of four women who dislike BOTH of these competitors at ringside...well, with the exception of Dani, who is likely a fan of both...this could get messy very quickly, Mark.

Mark: There’s no doubt about it. That is indeed the wildcard here tonight, the four women standing at each side of the ring each looking up and wishing it were them. It’s been a very long road to get here for both women, neither of them having won but one fan vote the entire season. And tonight, it’s as much on their shoulders to walk away with the championship as it is on the four women who could make an extreme difference tonight, if given the chance.

The camera shows the pedestal where the FFW Future Shock Season 8 Championship resides, decorated in silver and blue with the season logo on the main faceplate with a black leather strap.

Mark: And there you see the prize, the ceremonial Future Shock Championship. One of these ladies will enter a very special class of women, only seven before them. But Wolf, not only this prize and the Pick Your Poison match contract, but also...a berth in the Season of Champions starting next year!

Wolf: It’s true, the potential from winning this match is massive, Mark.  Massive.  between a chance to face and defeat whoever you want on the FFW roster and a spot in the season of champions where it is a rumored an FFW title match will be on the line....we could be looking at the birth of star tonight.

Mark: If not a FFW Champion. Imagine what a Cinderella story it would be if one of these ladies moved onto the Season of Champions only to win and capture the FFW Championship, that would be the most amazing story in FFW history for either one of them, to be honest.

Wolf:  We have had some pretty amazing stories for women going after the FFW Championships, between Scarlett Kincaid’s meteoric rise and Colleen’s recent shocking turnaround, it might be considered par for the course for yet another story of inspiration to get rolling here tonight on the road to challenging for that belt.

As April and Abby loosen up in the corner, we see Melinda Davis head towards the ring. On each side of the ring stands one of of the four eliminated Future Shock graduates in Danielle Mason, Aimee Easter, Christelle Gillet, and Maia Lopez.

Mark: There you see our four graduates who could be the deciding factor, though I certainly hope not, in tonight’s all important finale. You’ll notice the absence of Raelyn Sweet, who was fired for striking the owner early in the season. And also the missing Nessa Wall, who fled for what I’m sure she felt was greener pastures immediately after losing last week’s fan vote.

Wolf: I’m hardly shocked by either case, Mark.  Neither woman showed the coolest head during the season and their response can be attributed to their own hotheadedness.  Either way...I’d keep my eyes on Maia Lopez, who has a bone to pick with Abby Fitzpatrick that is well documented and Aimee Easter, who is known to just cause problems because she can.  I expect they will play volatile roles in this match whether we like it or not.

Davis calls for the bell as Abby moves to the center first, looking around at the four women on the floor for a moment and then back to April before raising her hand in the air. Evans gave her a strange look as Abby invited her forward, keeping her hand held aloft as April moved in. And with a look of determination on her face, Abby was inviting her to a test of strength apparently to start the match. April shook her head as she raised her hand up, locking her fingers with Abby’s as the Irish lass began to raise her other hand.

Mark: I don’t think this is a wise choice to start this match at all for Abby. She is not going to defeat April in a test of strength.

Wolf: I don’t think she intends to Mark....

April reaches her other hand up, locking her fingers in with Abby’s before the Irish woman drops to her back and uses her feet to send April over with a monkey flip to the mat. With her hands still locked with April’s, she rolled on top of her and mounted her before freeing one hand to unload with straight right hands to the head. Evans tried to cover with one hand, shaking Abby off. But as she tried to get up, Fitzpatrick was on the move and caught her with a running senton to her lower back. Evans crashed back down to the mat before Abby pulled her head up, and began clubbing away with forearm shots across her face one after another.

Mark: You were right, Abby is doing what she has to do. Using her speed advantage and Evans has rolled into a whirlwind here. Look at those forearm shots from the brawler!

Wolf: Strikes quick and fast needs to be the name of the game for Fitzpatrick here.  She needs to wear down April before any big impact moves come into play.

Abby quickly got to her feet, watching as April got to her hands and knees before she delivered a low dropkick to her ribs to take her back down to the mat. She began to drive her knee into April’s back again and again before springing to her feet and hitting the near side ropes where Danielle Mason watched on. And as Evans went to get up again, she caught a leg drop across the back of her head to send her back to the mat. Abby quickly rolled her over for a lateral press before Davis dropped for the count!

ONE!!

TW-NOOO!!

With an impressive display of power, Evans shot her off from above her with both hands, causing Abby to roll towards the ropes. She immediately stopped herself as she rolled very close to a closing Aimee Easter on one side, quickly rolling back in the other direction and to her feet.

Wolf: Close call, for Abby I think Easter was planning something, given the shit eating grin on her face...though her mouth may just be stuck like that.  Either way, an authoritative kickout from Evans.

Evans began to push up to her feet as Abby took off towards her, burying a knee into her abdomen to double her over. And with catlike grace, she dropped into a split on the mat and caught Evans with a palm thrust to the throat that caused her to choke and cough. Abby slid back to her feet, hooking April’s head and delivering a perfect swinging neckbreaker before she rolled her over for another lateral press.

Mark: Abby’s not just quick, she’s sudden! And she is all over April Evans, and another cover!

ONE!!!

TWOO-NOOOOOOOOO!!!

And again, April fires Abby off the top of her with authority. Evans began to stir, getting to her hands and knees as Abby seemed to be measuring her for something not too far away from her.

Wolf: Abby is quick and striking fast, but she really needs a knockout blow if any of these moves are gonna lead to a win.  She may be setting up for just that however...

Abby patted her elbow as April rose to her feet. Fitzpatrick took off towards her, going for a spinning back elbow to the jaw. But April ducked the contact and used a back body drop to send her over the top rope to the apron. Abby managed to catch herself before she hit the floor, but Maia Lopez reached up and jerked her down to the floor anyway. Lopez began going for swinging right hands, as Abby managed to block, firing back with shots of her own. Lopez grabbed her arm, looking to fire her into the steps. But Abby reversed it, causing Maia to barrel towards them instead and manage to stop herself before she collided. Fitzpatrick looked about to nail her when April reached down over the top rope, pulling Abby up by the head to the apron. Evans clocked her with right cross and hooked her head under one arm before lifting her up high into the air for a vertical suplex. She walked backwards a few steps, holding her up for about four seconds before she planted her onto the mat!

Wolf: Maia didn’t cause any physical damage herself, but that distraction made it easy for April to swoop in right there and Abby is in trouble right here!

Mark: It is no difficulty at all for April to hold Abby like that, but it quickly becomes a case of bad ride, worse landing!

Abby clutched at her back in pain as April rolled her to her stomach, crossing Abby’s feet and pressing her own knees into her back before Evans used her other hand to grab Abby’s head before she rocked backwards and held Abby in a surfboard stretched across her knees as Evans laid on her back.

Mark: I’ve never seen April rely on submissions before, but that is certainly a very smart strategy. Because I’m pretty sure Abby wasn’t thinking about them either coming from her. And now Abby’s back is being in a direction it wasn’t meant to go.

Wolf: It’s a submission that power wrestler can really take advantage of too.  The surfboard benefits from upper body strength as you essentially try to bend your opponent’s spine past the point of tolerance.

Abby’s face was wracked with pain as April pulled harder against her back, burying her knees deeper as she held her in place. Davis asked her if she wanted to submit, but Fitzpatrick didn’t give the affirmative answer. With her free hands, she began desperately reaching for the ropes but April’s positioning was such that none were within close proximity for her.

Mark: Evans can keep this on all night if she needs to. And if you think about it, a submission certainly takes the lumberjacks out of this thing if she can manage to make Abby quit.

Wolf: Certainly, not much they can do if you have your opponent in the middle of the ring.  This is where Evans wants to be.

Fitzpatrick’s face was red as she began to rock her body into April slowly before she managed to almost land on top of her in a pinning predicament!!

Mark: She..countered it!! April’s about to get pinned!!

ONE!!!

TWOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Evans quickly released the hold, letting Abby roll off of her. Fitzpatrick rolled to the ropes, grabbing them in case April went to get her again. She didn’t stay there long before Aimee Easter grabbed her foot, trying to pull her out of the ring. And it worked, as Abby rolled to the floor. Easter began to unload with clubbing blows to Abby’s back before Maia Lopez came around the corner. Easter spotted her, almost glaring at her to come near her. Meanwhile, Abby climbed back up onto the apron and rolled back in the ring. Easter and Maia noticed it after it was too late. Evans jerked Abby back to her feet, firing her hard into the far corner. Her back struck violently before April grabbed her arm again and sent her with a fierce velocity to the far corner with great impact again. And one more whip crashed Abby’s back into the corner for the third time.

Mark: I’ve never seen someone get fired into a buckle that hard! Evans has picked out her body part, and she’s focused on making Abby’s back hurt no matter what she does.

Wolf: Not to mention Abby has been the only one suffering the effects of the lumberjacks so far and that is making a difference in this match, I assure you.

Evans moved into the corner where Abby hung, a pained expression on her face as April delivered a pair of uppercuts into her ribs, lifting her off the mat with each blow one after another. Abby began to cough violently as April pulled her back out, scooping her up into a gorilla press. But as she extended her above her head, Abby slid out the back to her feet. She staggered backwards a few steps, her back in obvious pain before April turned and charged in with a clothesline. Fitzpatrick ducked out of the way, and as Evans turned, she caught a standing dropkick that sent April through the ropes to the floor once again on Aimee’s side. Easter had a smirk on her face before she took off and delivered a punt into April’s ribs, dropping down to her knees to mock her. Evans held her ribs in immense pain before Aimee pulled her back up again. But as she was about to deliver another blow, Danielle Mason came around from the blind side and caught her with a roundhouse kick to the lower back. This dropped Easter to her knees, as she looked back over her shoulder in pain at Danielle, who moved back around the corner. April climbed back into the ring, where Abby dragged her back to the center and planted her head between her legs.

Mark: Easter is causing all kinds of problems on the floor, not that it is a surprise! But look at Abby, I’m not sure what she’s going for, but I’m not positive she can get Evans up either!

Wolf: April’s a big girl, but not super sized.  Still, Abby isn’t usually one for powerbombs and big impact.  This could be interesting.

Abby wrapped her arms around April’s waist, looking to fall backwards. And that she did, landing a piledriver on Evans. She quickly floated over into a cover!

ONE!!

TWOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

THRE-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

April kicked out, just not as authoritatively as she had before. And Abby got back to her feet, still holding her back in pain as she headed to the turnbuckle in Danielle Mason’s corner. Dani looked up from the floor as Abby climbed up to the top rope. She tried to stand, but it was obvious her back was still in pain as she doubled over slightly but rose again.

Mark: Abby’s on the top rope in somewhat friendlier territory, I’d say. But her back has been punished, and you can tell by watching her every move.

Wolf: She’s having some trouble but she’s comfortable psychologically on the top rope and we’ll see if that’s going to be her end or a pay off huge here.

Abby launched herself off the top rope, extending her arms and legs for a frog splash! And as she flew through the air, Evans brought her knees up and Fitzpatrick landed right on them, shrieking in pain as she fell to the mat, curled up in almost a fetal position clutching her ribs!

Mark: Abby went for the frog splash, but found nothing but knees waiting down below! She may well have cracked ribs here!

Wolf: Her midsection is taking a lot of punishment in this one Mark.  She needs a big counter or impact move soon or this one will be only a matter of time.

Evans took a moment to get her wherewithal, pushing up to her hands and knees before getting to her feet. She leaned down, pulling Abby up to her feet and then lifting her onto her back into a torture rack! Fitzpatrick screamed in pain as April had it locked in nearly perfectly, with Davis asking her if she wanted to give up.

Wolf:  And more punishment to the back! Abby has fought through a lot, but I think this may be it!

Mark: Davis is asking her if she wants to quit, but she won’t do it! Abby came too far to quit tonight, but how much more damage can her back withstand?!

Davis continued to ask her if she wanted to submit before Maia Lopez slid under the bottom rope, taunting Abby as she stood in front her head. Davis demanded Lopez leave the ring as the Puerto Rican star continued to hurl obscenities at Abby. The referee began to get more demanding, screaming at Lopez to leave as Aimee slid under the bottom rope behind April’s back. And with stunning accuracy, she delivered a chop block to April’s knee, causing her to drop Abby to the mat and April to fall to her knees as well. Happy with herself, she went to pick her up as Christelle Gillet then entered the ring and caught Aimee with a spear that took her to the mat before she began unloading with right hands on top of her! Lopez argued with the official before Danielle moved around to that side of the ring, jerking Lopez’s feet out from under her and dragging her back to the floor. And Davis immediately went to try and get Christelle and Aimee out of the ring.

Mark: We said this thing could get out of hand, and we have the damn lumberjacks fighting each other! All these combustible elements....just exploded!

Wolf: Indeed, Aimee saw a nice chance to take a shot at April and Christelle, who has more than enough reason to hate Easter, took that as an excuse to unload all her frustration on her and now the fight is between two people not even in the damn match!

Christelle and Aimee continued to exchange blows on the mat as Davis tried to break them up. Meanwhile, Abby got back to her feet. And as April did the same and turned, Fitzpatrick charged towards her, catching her head and delivering a thunderous RKO!

Mark: Good lord, Abby went for it all and got every bit of it! April may be out cold!!

Abby quickly floated over, hooking the leg and looking around to see Davis still contending with Christelle and Aimee in the ring. Abby pounded the mat, trying to get her attention.

Wolf: Abby may have this one but Aimee and Christelle have Davis distracted!  This could cost her the win!

She hopped to her feet in agitation, trying to get Davis to turn around and face her. Meanwhile, April began to get up. And when she finally managed to get Davis to turn around, Abby turned back and walked into a kick to the midsection. April quickly hooked her around the waist and hoisted her onto her shoulders. She extended her up a little higher after that, and brought her down with a thunderous jackknife!!

Mark: THE JACKKNIFE!! ABBY WALKED RIGHT INTO IT!!

Wolf:  OH MY GOD!  Did you see how her neck landed?!  She may be seriously hurt!

The brawl between Christelle and Aimee rolled to the floor as Davis turned back to the action in the ring as April quickly hooked Abby’s leg in a cover!

Mark: APRIL’S GONNA WIN FUTURE SHOCK!!

ONE!!!!

TWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THREEEEEEEEE-

Mark: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! ABBY GOT THE SHOULDER UP, AND I DON’T BELIEVE IT!!

April looked up at Davis in disbelief and then down to a slowly stirring Abby on the canvas.

Wolf: NOT OVER YET!  April capitalized big time but Abby will not stay down!  God bless her heart!

April slowly got to her feet, pulling Abby up with her. Fitzpatrick surprised her with a jawbreaker that stunned her before the Irish lass took off for the corner. With April still stunned, she glanced back behind her to her opponent and climbed to the top rope. And with swanlike grace, she leaped from the top rope. Evans turned around and caught her in midair with both hands around her throat! Abby’s eyes widened in disbelief before Evans drilled her with a sitout chokeslam to the mat!

Mark: April caught Abby in midair...and you want to talk about a bone jarring Rydeen bomb!!

Wolf: Abby’s air has to be ALL gone between the throat and her midsection after that move! If you can’t breathe you can’t kick out!!!

April floated it into a pinning attempt with her legs across Abby’s arms before Davis fell for the count!

ONE!!!!

TWOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT???!!!!!!!!!!!!

And once again, Abby’s shoulder popped up just as Davis’ hand was coming down for three!

Mark: How...on Earth did she do that?! Abby’s not out yet, but by God, I don’t know what she’s running on right now!!

Wolf: Instinct and heart, a potent combination.  I have known many wrestlers who have gone further than anyone expected running on just that, Mark!

Mark: It just goes to show you how much being the Future Shock Champion means to these two women, because they are leaving it all in that ring!

April got back to her feet, asking the referee if she was sure it wasn’t three. Davis explained it to her, holding up two fingers as April turned back around. She leaned down to pull Abby up, but Fitzpatrick surprised her with a small package!

Mark: Don’t tell me...Abby’s gonna win it!!

ONE!!!!!!!

TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Evans kicked out in time as Abby began to crawl away after rolling off the cover.

Wolf: SO CLOSE!  She almost pulled a win from the claws of defeat.

April got back to her feet, grabbing Abby’s leg and dragging her backwards. Fitzpatrick got to her feet, hopping on one foot as April had the other. And with a last ditch effort, she went for a spinning heel kick to April’s head. Evans shoved her other foot away, causing her to lose her balance as she went for it. But she had a chance to fall, Evans hooked her head and hoisted her back up for another vertical suplex. But....it wasn’t! And with absolute power on display, she twisted it into a jackhammer!!

Wolf: JACKHAMMER!!  She drilled her head into the mat.

Mark: WHAT A SPIKE!!

ONE!!!!!

TWOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

THRE-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Davis was jerked out of the ring by none other than Aimee Easter before the three count, as Easter screamed that April was stealing her move. April got to her feet, heading towards the ropes and leaning down towards Aimee, who invited her to come out and get her! Meanwhile, Abby began to stir on the mat.

Wolf: Damn it, this was over and Aimee Easter just screwed April!  This woman can’t leave anything alone!

Mark: Abby’s getting up....

Davis slid back into the ring as April turned back as well, choosing not to go after Aimee. And as she turned, Fitzpatrick used a springboard off the middle rope into a moonsault that caught April flush!!

Mark: MOONSAULT!! And this has to be over!!

ONE!!!

TWOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Evans kicked out as Abby pounded the mat in frustration. Pushing up to her feet, she jerked April with her and looked to be going for a reverse DDT! But April countered it in her own finisher, the modified Cross Rhodes!

Mark: SHE CALLS IT JUST LIKE THAT!! AND BY GOD, THAT MAY PERFECTLY NAMED!!

Wolf: HUGE REVERSAL!  AND THIS HAS TO BE IT!

Evans quickly hooks the leg immediately.

ONE!!!!

TWOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All four of the lumberjacks looked up to see the referee call for the bell.

Mark: You’re right, because it is!! That was three, and April Evans...is your Future Shock Champion!!!

Davis raised April’s hand as she rolled to her knees, an exhausted but emotional look on her face as the tears already began to form.

Wolf: It was her dream and she did it here tonight!  April Evans just took a huge step towards becoming a major player in FFW!  But Fitzpatrick made her earn every inch of it here tonight!

Davis was handed the Future Shock Season Eight Championship, quickly applying the nameplate herself before she handed it to April. Clutching it against her body, she looked down at it as tears streamed down her face before she pressed a kiss to it.

Mark: April Evans went from fighting in shady dives and dealing with crooked promoters...living out of her car, and it was worth it in the end because now she’s on the biggest stage in this industry in FFW...and she’s the eighth woman to be able to say she is the FUTURE SHOCK CHAMPION!!

Wolf: Another worker who fought her way up from nothing and proved that hard work and belief in yourself can make you successful in this business despite the poison that some wrestlers will try to spew.

The lumberjacks filtered out of the ringside area as April crawled over towards Abby, helping her sit up before leaning in and giving her a hug.

Mark: And there you see tremendous sportsmanship, rightfully so. Abby Fitzpatrick came to fight tonight, and no one with half a brain is going to say she didn’t give it everything in her body. She has nothing to be ashamed of, as far as I’m concerned.

Wolf: Abby Fitzpatrick is one hundred percent pure heart and that will take you far in this business, I promise you.  She put on a hell of a performance and being Future Shock runner up is nothing to be ashamed of.  Just ask Ultraviolence Champ Cara Stone or Future Shock Fight Night Champ Arabella Black!  Abby has proven she was what it takes to go far in this industry as far as I’m concerned.

Mark: Wolf, what a season this has been! The biggest season ever in Future Shock history, and if it has to end, I’m glad it ended like this! With two women showing tremendous heart and desire and passion putting it all on the line for the right to write their name in the FFW history books! April Evans joins seven other women in a very exclusive club, and Abby Fitzpatrick proved once and for all why where she came from doesn’t matter, because it’s where she is now that has defined her.

Wolf: It has been a fantastic finale and April can take this and shove it into the faces of all the people who told her she was average or wrong or mediocre or anything else really.  She’s champ.  She did it.  She earned it and no one can take that away from her.

April got to her feet, holding Abby’s hand up alongside her own.

Mark: Folks, we thank you for joining us for the record breaking eighth season of Future Shock! The next time we have the honor of coming into your homes for this show will be when the Season of Champions kicks off, where one of our Future Shock Champions will look to earn a chance to become...the FFW Champion! For Wolf Ramsey, I’m Mark Horton saying good night from the season finale of Future Shock! We’ll see you at Velocity, where we will be hearing from both of these women about what transpired here tonight and what the future holds next!

April raises her title in the other hand before she shakes Abby’s hand.

Mark: Season Eight....what a ride! Good night from Los Angeles!

And with that, the eighth season of Future Shock comes to an end as the show fades off the air.
