A Shooting Star Production
FFW Future Shock
Season 14, Episode 1
April 25, 2014

The FFW logo flashes across the screen before we open inside a classroom. A man eerily familiar to the COO of FFW is shown standing at the whiteboard in a suit writing out some equation. Behind him is a classroom full of football players and eight girls. At this point, “School’s Out” by Alice Cooper begins to play. One girl in red hair drops her pencil and steps out of her desk to pick it up when one of the boys smacks her on the ass. The redhead stands up, glaring over her shoulder with glare. Shaking her head, she spins around and clocks him with a back kick to the jaw that sends him out of the desk. Kimmi glares down at him as the other football players get to their feet. One girl in a Jodie Gray t-shirt kicks another of the players between the legs and drops him. Dawn and Ashley use cartwheels into back elbows that take out two players. One girl with blue hair stands up, clutching something in her arms as a player spins her around and she lobs a penguin at his head!

The Asian girl rises to her feet, snapping a selfie with her phone before she clocks it upside the head of the quarterback, sending him to the floor. Another brunette rises to her feet, going to tell the teacher when one of the guys yells at her. She turns around with a smile before she looks down to her Marla Lee picture on the desk and delivers a straight front kick, cracking his nose and bloodying it. All the while, one girl whips out a pair of handcuffs twirling them on her finger. All eight women look at one another, and back to the teacher who is still writing. The eight girls shake their head and walk towards the camera till it goes back and we see the Future Shock Season 14 logo.

The next image we see is of the North Marion Speedway as the lights illuminate the track as thousands of fans fill the bleachers. The oval track is well lit as the cameras pan all around and also to the fans watching in the stands. We see eight go karts of differing color schemes lined up at the starting line, the sound of engines racing before we head up to the booth. And standing by, we find Zack Hudson, Gabrielle Crimson, and Wendy Briese.

Zack: The much anticipated fourteenth season of FFW’s Future Shock has finally begun. And tonight, eight women will be looking to earn your support to keep them in the competition to the season finale. I’m Zack Hudson, and this is my first full season of Future Shock to call, which I greatly anticipate. Joining me for the season is also Gabrielle Crimson. And since we are here in Indy at the North Marion Speedway, who better to invite up to the booth with us than Wendy Briese!

Wendy: Thank you, Zack!  Oh my God, tonight is so exciting.  A year’s hard work is paying off for Terrence and I tonight, and now a LIFETIME’S hard work is about to start paying off for eight Future Shock hopefuls!

Gaby: That’s right! Tonight, eight new stars are gonna settle it in the oval circuit for not only the first great impression in Future Shock - and we all know how important that is - but also a special prize that may change the landscape of the competition down the line! So glad you allow us your company tonight for tonight’s event!

The cameras go trackside as we see Terrence “Twister” Thompson standing and chatting with Cody Kincaid.

Zack: And there we see Wendy’s husband, ARCA driver Terrence “Twister” Thompson along with Cody. He wanted to see this up close and personal, he’s got quite the guide to tell him everything he needs to know as this race progresses.

Gaby: And he has the green and the checkered flags as well, so FFW sponsored ARCA driver, Indy’s own and Mr. Briese himself will start and finish us off here tonight.

Wendy: He’s been like a kid all week.  This is the FIRST ever race of the North Marion Speedway reboot, and he gets to be the starter for it!  And later tonight, he’ll hope to be the winner of his first feature, but that’s in a bit!

The camera shows the two rows of go-karts, lined up side by side in four pairs. Each of the drivers can be made out from their uniforms, which have their names on the front and back of them.

Zack: They’ll be going five laps here tonight, and the winner of the race gets quite the prize. A “No Elimination” card that they can hold on the rest of the season, if they need it. And that will give them a berth into the next round and one last shot to convince the voters they don’t deserve the elimination.

Wendy: Which is huge.  Everyone can make a mistake and get themselves in trouble with the voters.  To give yourself a huge advantage like that in the first competition… that’s a game changer.

Gaby: Now, let’s just remind everybody -- the karts were reviewed by “Twister” himself, so all eight girls have IDENTICAL running go-karts. They’re on their own tenacity tonight, and we’re only waiting on the first wave of that flag for the madness to begin!

The show heads back down to the track as we hear the engines continuing to rev in the go karts, each of the eight women fully decked out in protective gear as well as helmets. Terrence heads towards the track, not far from the starting line with the flag at his side. And with one swift move, his arm shoots up and the green flag is shown waving high overhead as the eight karts take off.

Zack: And we’re under green, and there they go!

As the race begins, the vehicles stay similar to how they began in formation with Ashley Chase and Antarctica in front running side by side. The rest of the field starts to fan out a bit as we see a three way tie for second place between Kimmi Hate, Megan Caraway, and Sylvia Crowley. Dawn, Taylor, and Mandy Gray trail behind in that order. Chase starts to pull a head just a bit, getting in the lead by a nose as Antarctica manages to keep alongside her by going down to the inside of the track. Sylvia and Megan pulled ahead in a tie for second as Kimmi goes all the way down to the inside and hugs the edge of the track at the same time.

Wendy: One of the things about a new track is you’re not so sure where the racing lines are.  Kimmi may be a little TOO low  here.  I think Antarctica’s got a good line, but Ashley’s doing a good job of holding her off.

Gaby: And right behind them you have them you have Meg Caraway and Sylvia Crowley fighting for the third place, with Kimmi going for the inside of the track trying to buy herself some time! This is an oval circuit with a hint of a slant, so she might actually be on the right strategy!

Taylor manages to overtake Dawn as Mandy starts to head down towards the inside herself, following Kimmi’s game plan apparently. In the front of the pack, Chase and Antarctica run neck and neck for first place before the blue haired racer begins to pull ahead. She starts to gain some serious ground and clearly takes the lead as Chase tries to move to the inside as well. But Kimmi Hate hugs the lane as Chase bumps into her. Hate doesn’t take well to that and bumps her back. This causes Ashley to to lose a bit of ground as Kimmi pulls ahead of her and manages to get in front of her and now behind the blue haired beauty. Mandy pulls ahead of Dawn and Taylor, leaving those two trying to battle it out to pull ahead of the other. A graphic on the screen pops up to show who is leading.

1- Antarctica
2- Kimmi Hate
3- Ashley Chase
4- Mandy Gray

Wendy: Looks like the line’s good enough, at least for a go-kart.  Kimmi and Ashley swapping a little paint there, and Kimmi coming out the better, but if everyone behind her starts bumping into each other, Antarctica is going to have an easy four laps remaining!

Antarctica begins to further her lead just a bit as Kimmi begins to further her lead as well for second place. Chase holds onto third with Mandy Gray coming in behind her quickly. Dawn and Sylvia begin to bump back and forth into one another as they round the first turn of the oval track. Crowley heads to the inside and rams Dawn again, giving Taylor the chance to move ahead of both of them. Warren starts to try to slide to the inside, as Sylvia overtakes her for the fourth place position. Taylor and Dawn fight it out for last place. Megan Caraway moves up alongside Sylvia in an attempt to overtake her as the pair run side by side.

Zack: There may not be a lot of track in her home continent, but Antarctica has taken the lead so far. Kimmi is only about a half kart length behind her. And Ashley’s holding onto third. But we got a bit of a fight starting for fourth as Sylvia and Megan are running side by side.

Wendy: It’s going to be a long, tough two miles here!  Fighting for position is one thing, but you have to keep pace with the leader.

Gaby: Looks like Antarctica’s penguin is her lucky charm, ‘cause she’s been up front since the beginning of the race, but Hate is too close to comfort! And way back there, I believe Taylor Heafy and Dawn Warren still haven’t found the best way to handle their karts!

As the pack rounds the first lap of the race, the scoreboard lights up with the placement for all.

1- Antarctica
2- Kimmi Hate
3- Mandy Gray
4- Sylvia Crowley

The blue haired beauty keeps the lead as she goes to the inside of the lane with Kimmi gaining on her quickly. Hate dips down even lower to the inside and manages to brush the back of her go kart as the pair begin to amass a bit of a lead on the others. Mandy takes the high road as Sylvia counters down underneath her and manages to run side by side with her in the second lap. Heafy and Dawn continue to bounce off one another, seemingly getting a little annoyed by the fact they are hitting one another over and over. This allows Megan to overtake both of them and pull up alongside Crowley as the two fight it out for fourth place. Mandy tries to gain some as she manages to stay ahead of the two fighting for fourth. Chase drops to fifth with Heafy and Dawn still battling it out for last place.

Zack: It’s a battle of women with impossible hair colors right now. Kimmi is starting to gain on the penguin-loving Antarctica. And Mandy is holding third. Megan and Sylvia are neck and neck for fourth.

Gaby: And Ashley, who started the race with full steam, seems to be losing gas! She’s plummeted from first to fifth, and Heafy and Warren are still butting heads with one another for the 7th.

Wendy: Fighting to get out of last place isn’t going to do you any good! They should work together, get in line, form a draft, and try to work their way to the front.  Not sure if that actually works in go-karting, but I’m not sure if there’s another way.

1- Antarctica
2- Kimmi Hate
3- Mandy Gray
4- Sylvia Crowley/Megan Caraway

Dawn and Taylor continue to battle it out with Heafy starting to make some progress as she noses ahead of her. The Green Fox starts to move away from her up the track as Taylor finally overtakes her. In the battle for fourth Sylvia manages to pull away from Megan as the end of the second lap plays out. Mandy glances behind her as Sylvia really begins to make a move towards her as Kimmi pulls up alongside the leader in a tie race for first.

Wendy: Three laps to go!  One and a half miles and Kimmi Hate is making her move!

The third lap holds the status quo mostly as no one manages to overtake anyone else and hold their position. Ashley and Megan duke it out for fifth place as Sylvia maintains fourth and starts to bump the back of Mandy’s vehicle. This throws Mandy off just a bit as Sylvia moves to the inside and pulls up alongside her. Mandy tries to overtake her again but Sylvia manages to pull ahead finally and land herself in third.

1- Antarctica
2- Kimmi Hate
3- Sylvia Crowley
4- Mandy Gray
5- Megan Caraway
6- Taylor Heafy
7- Ashley Chase
8- Dawn Warren

Gaby: Ashley has definitely lost her grip, she’s now all the way down to seventh, and Taylor is building up momentum! And Antarctica and Kimmi Hate are STILL battling it out for the first, with Sylvia Crowley coming all the way from behind and joining them at third after quite the battle with Amanda Gray!

Wendy: Chase and Warren are still battling back there, too.  Seventh is not what you’re aiming for, ladies!

Sylvia starts to move in on Kimmi, trying to gain some ground as the Hate sister continues to hold firm to second place. Megan and Mandy began to duke it out for fourth place with Mandy managing to maintain the lead. Dawn tried to overtake Ashley for seventh, but Chase veered hard to the inside and started to make ground on Taylor in sixth. Warren slammed her hand against her wheel in frustration. Meanwhile in the lead, Antarctica saw Kimmi Hate pull alongside her, the two bumping cars against one another. Each one seemingly trying to hammer the other a little harder before Kimmi pulled ahead by a nose. And at the end of the third lap, the scoreboard showed the following.

1- Kimmi Hate
2- Antarctica
3- Sylvia Crowley
4- Mandy Gray
5- Megan Caraway
6- Taylor Heafy
7- Ashley Chase
8- Dawn Warren

Zack: So far, it’s been two people fighting for first place, and just now Kimmi has managed to make the lead by a nose. But she still isn’t out of the woods yet, and here comes Sylvia bearing down in third as we begin the fourth lap.

The cameras happen to catch Cody and Terrence watching as Cody pointed to something off the track. The camera (and Terrence’s vision) turned to see a black go-kart barrel onto the track ahead the last four drivers!

Zack: What’s Cody looking at? Wait!

Wendy: That isn’t… you’ve gotta be…

Gaby: What on my blue Earth is THAT?!

As the racers continue the fourth lap, the black kart speeds up somehow and pulls up alongside Sylvia and begins barreling into her again and again and again. Crowley loses control for a moment and the black kart gets ahead of her, slowing down as the other racers pass them by. Crowley begins trying to make up some speed as the black kart stays dead in front of her, letting all the other racers go past but Sylvia. Kimmi pulls ahead into first place finally in the lead, but at the back, Sylvia is shown trying to move around the black racer, who matches her exactly. She swings to the inside to try and go around but the driver barrels into the side of her kart and pushes her into the wall. Sparks begin to fly off the friction before the black kart pulls ahead and Sylvia finally gets off the wall herself. She starts to rejoin the field...when the black car seems to shoot some kind of black substance onto the track right in her path, as well as what appeared to be thumb tacks. Crowley can’t avoid it, and begins spinning around like a top before her kart goes crashing hard into the wall, with her tires beginning to deflate.

Wendy: ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?  Sylvia just got taken out!  And that…. IDIOT!  Does he have any idea how DANGEROUS that is?

Zack: I knew he hated her and especially her girlfriend, but Pollaski...in Racer X fashion...just sent Crowley into the wall. I think he’s taken her out of this race!

Gaby: It took long enough for the madness to begin and we see racers going full on Mario Kart and spinning and blowing up in here, but we could’ve never imagined the interference would come from someone who is NOT CONTENDING!!!

The black kart pulls off to the side as Pollaski does indeed step out, pointing to Sylvia with a cackle before we see Terrence heading for him from the other side of the track. Meanwhile back in the race, Kimmi maintains first place with Antarctica right behind her now.

1- Kimmi Hate
2- Antarctica
3- Mandy Gray
4- Megan Caraway
5- Taylor Heafy
6- Ashley Chase
7- Dawn Warren

The karts headed into the final lap with no change in position, other than Sylvia being unable to continue because of damage to her kart. Dawn and Ashley manage to pull up on either side with Taylor Heafy as the trio are in a dead heat for fifth place. Megan manages to overtake Mandy finally and move into third. Kimmi pulls ahead a bit farther with Antarctica losing ground behind her.

Zack: Kimmi Hate is leading the pack here, Crowley is now confirmed out of this race. Being told her kart is in no condition to continue, thanks to Pollaski! And I hope these girls stay wide to the outside, because that oil and those tacks are all over the place on the inside wall there.

Wendy: Absolutely STUPID move by Pollaski.  Bad enough that he INVADED a race to take out Crowley, but those tacks are dangerous… and if those get in one of the STOCK CARS in a later race… oh God…

Gaby: He may have ruined more than just this race, and what was an orderly event before may have become a complete, unabashed mess… Thanks to Pollaski!

1- Kimmi Hate
2- Antarctica
3- Megan Caraway
4- Mandy Gray
5- Taylor Heafy - Ashley Chase - Dawn Warren

Zack: I don’t think FFW will be holding any more events here….

As Antarctica tried to bridge the gap on Kimmi, she failed to notice Megan gaining on her. Caraway moved down to the inside and came up alongside her. Taylor broke free of the three way tie for fifth and managed to come up on the other side of Megan. She tried to overtake the bounty hunter, but some quick timing by Megan saw her outmaneuver her and pull ahead of Antarctica into second place. The blue haired beauty tried to stay in front of Taylor, who had now passed Mandy.

1- Kimmi Hate
2- Megan Caraway
3- Antarctica
4- Taylor Heafy
5- Mandy Gray
6- Dawn Warren - Ashley Chase

Wendy: Look at Megan!  She’s been running Mid-pack most of the race, but she’s making her move!

Gaby: She took advantage of the track’s shape and has propelled herself forward! She’s on a hot chase and Kimmi’s victory may be seriously threatened!

Antarctica tried to gain some ground, tapping the back of Megan’s kart as she did. Caraway moved away from her towards the top of the track as she started to gain on Kimmi in the lead. Antarctica followed her lead and began to head up towards her as well. The two ran side by side for second place. Meanwhile, Ashley Chase began to pick up some steam and started moving ahead a bit of Dawn. Warren countered by going to the inside and managing to surpass her and start gaining on Taylor. The Green Fox began giving Heafy taps on the back with her vehicle, causing Taylor to lose a bit of ground as Warren pulled up alongside her. Mandy maintained her position.

1- Kimmi Hate
2- Antarctica - Megan Caraway
3- Taylor Heafy
4- Dawn Warren
5- Mandy Gray & Ashley Chase

Zack: We’ve got a fight for second place, and they are in the final turn right here! Unless someone can catch Kimmi Hate, this thing could be over!

Gaby: Kimmi has had an amazing performance so far, running away from the pack in the middle and taking advantage of the track to build up some serious advantage! Meg Caraway and Antarctica are hot on her trail, but the redhead could pull off the perfect race!

Wendy: Antarctica seems to have better position, but she better make this pass a clean one if she hopes to have enough time to catch Kimmi!

Coming out of the final turn, Antarctica managed to squeak ahead of Megan as Taylor rammed Caraway from behind. Mandy pulled ahead of Ashley and gave Dawn a little tap herself with her kart as Chase was unable to avoid the oil slick and tacks on that turn when she hit them. She went into the wall not far from where Sylvia’s kart had crashed, pounding her hands on the wheel.

Gaby: And Ashley Chase spins!!! In the same spot Sylvia Crowley was taken out! Score 2 for the fat dude!

With the finish line in sight, Kimmi Hate manages to speed across it with Antarctica just barely edging out Megan behind her as the rest of the karts passed quickly as well. The scoreboard showed the final positions.

1- Kimmi Hate
2- Antarctica
3- Megan Caraway
4- Taylor Heafy
5- Dawn Warren
6- Mandy Gray
E- Sylvia Crowley - Ashley Chase

Terrence waves the flag to end the race as the vehicles start to slow down on the track as we see Kimmi thrusting her hand into the air as she begins to find a spot to stop the vehicle.

Zack: Score one for the Hate sister, Kimmi has won this race! And she’s got herself a very valuable “get out of elimination free” card that she can sit on as long as she needs to! The purveyor of penguin love came in second just barely!

Wendy: Well, I think Kimmi’s probably changed her tune about holding the first race here now that it’s given her a huge advantage in the competition.  Sylvia and Ashley though…. that was unfortunate, and my apologies go out to them.  At least both seem to be okay.

Gaby: Both taken out by Daniel Pollaski and his unabashed ire directed to Marla Lee’s girlfriend… For the sake of being Marla’s girlfriend. We’re left to wonder what would be the result of this race hadn’t Racer X showed up.

The camera shows the two crashed karts as both drivers look none too happy about it, for obvious reasons. Kimmi heads for the pit area, her hand in the air as Cody raises her hand and gives her the card in question. Sylvia starts moving towards Pollaski with Terrence not looking too happy either as they head for the big man. Pollaski gets back into his go kart and starts it up, revving the engine and burns rubber as he tears down the track. As he glances behind him to see how far back Terrence and Sylvia are, he fails to notice as he makes a turn back into the pit area on the other side…. and Kimmi and Cody dive in opposite directions as he nearly barrels into them before he finally comes to a stop, looking back to the two and seeing Terrence and Sylvia before barreling off again.

Wendy: … We all know I’m not going to fire him.  But I am going to kill him.  Excuse me.

The sound of a headset being thrown down is heard, leaving Gabby and Zack alone.  We head back to the booth as Gaby and Zack watch Wendy leaving.

Zack: Kimmi Hate has won one wild go kart race, and Pollaski took out Sylvia and Ashley….and almost Cody and Kimmi in his escape.

Gaby: I didn’t want to be rude but… How does a woman like Wendy keep such a dirty manager? He basically ruined the race for two contestants and, well, almost ran over the boss and the winner. But oil slick and tacks or not, Kimmi Hate had a great performance, and the “Save my Hiney” pass is hers!

Zack: Fans, now it’s your turn. Head to the FFW website and vote for who you’d like to see sent home after this week. No, Pollaski won’t be part of the poll. Who do you think should be done for the season? Head over to the website to cast your vote. And we’ll find out the results next week here as Future Shock’s frenetic fourteenth season continues!

The cameras show Cody and Kimmi looking around as they get up off the ground as Future Shock fades off the air.
