The instrumental version of “Boom” by the X Ambassadors starts to play as we open on Jake and Gia arriving at an empty studio. Only the video wall behind them is there as they look around and at each other confused. Suddenly the video goes into fast forward as suddenly production staff immediately start moving in the furniture. The pair watch as the staff moves at a pretty quick pace (thanks to fast forward) and get everything set up: chairs and table too. The two hosts look pleased with that before they sit down. One staffer places Gia’s crown on her head, bringing a smile to her face before the After Shock logo appears on the video screen before the camera zooms in on it. A bolt of electricity appears and then we cut back to the actual show with both Jake and a special guest.

But as the opening ends, we’re not in the studio at all. Instead, we find Jake and Gia on location. They are sitting around a monitor with the hum of activity behind them as a few cosplayers are seen walking around behind them.

Jake: Hi, everyone! And welcome to the latest edition of After Shock! Gia’s back this week, and we are coming to you from the Javits Center, where this year’s New York City Comic-Con is currently taking place.

Gia: This is a popular destination not only for all things comic and pop-culture related, but also for wrestling as it turns out! I’ve been having a ton of fun here, and I can’t wait to talk all about our annual Sydney Supershow.

Jake; I love going to a Comic-Con, and this place is absolutely massive. I met a lot of people in geek culture, and hung out at our own booths too. If you’ve never been to one of these, I encourage you to make the trip. But if it’s your first time in the Javits Center, it’s not hard at all to get lost in all of this activity and just the size of this place. To give you some scope, they hold boat shows here.

Gia: That doesn’t surprise me at all. Thankfully they do give you a map along with your ticket, otherwise I’m sure there’d be a number of guests getting lost every year.

Jake; Thanks to them for letting us record here. Today’s show is going to totally focus on the Sydney Supershow coming up on the 19th. It’s a massive card with a lot of matches. So if you missed the latest Future Shock, it’s on All Access right now. Go watch it, and then come back because we’re going to run down one of the biggest Future Shock cards in history right about now.

Jake: The Qudos Bank Arena will be the destination October 19th for the sixth annual Sydney Supershow. Three titles on the line, and the kickoff to Global Wars. I love Australia, not so much the day plus flying there.

Gia: That’s why I save up for a first class ticket with this trip - if I’m gonna be on a plane for over an entire day, I’m gonna be as comfy as possible. As always, this card lives up to the name Super Show, and it’s gonna be a wild ride from start to finish.

Jake: Seven matches is definitely on the large side for these shows. The main event will, of course, be for the Future Shock Championship when Cait Flanagan challenges Alessandra Esposito in her first defense. Given all of the things Cait has done to get where she wants to be, I suspect we might see the biggest scheme of all here if that’s what it takes. But Alessandra has been on a tear this year, to say the least.

Gia: She has been, definitely, and I am totally rooting for a retention here. But given the circumstances that lead to Alessandra getting that shot at Future Shock Championship, by ending Cait’s undefeated streak in Global Wars? I have a feeling that the Million Dollar Baby will be out for blood during this match. So Alessandra needs to be careful here, and maybe let Christian kick Kyle in the face.

Jake: Global Wars will kick off on this show, and one of the matches where that’s the case will see FFW Hall of Famer Valerie McFarlane meeting Jacqui Minogue of the Matriarchy. Given that this is in Australia, Jacqui may be the fan favorite here, which will be odd for anyone else outside of Australia watching.

Gia: I mean, I get it - she’s their hometown girl, and seeing her up against the Final Boss of Future Shock is an exciting thing. Pair that with Jacqui’s ability to deliver in high stakes situations, and we very well could see Miss Minogue pull off an upset. However, she’s gonna have to work harder and smarter if she’s going to overcome the experience advantage of Valerie McFarlane. She wasn’t given the nickname because it was cute, after all. I know the Australian fans will probably be on Jacqui’s side, but I feel like Valerie is the safe bet here.

Jake: She’s also been making it clear on Twitter that she’s looking for Kyle. She went looking for him in the Gold Standard locker room like we saw at the end of the show. We found out he wasn’t even in Boston that night since he had no talent booked.  I’m no wrestler, but I’d focus on Valerie here. Going after him seems like an unnecessary side quest, to borrow a term from video games.

Gia: Definitely. And as much as we may not like it, Kyle’s existence around here is pretty much a given. If he hasn’t quit his managing gig after years of people coming after him, I doubt Jacqui will be the one to do it. I totally get the inclination to punch him in the face, but I don’t think it’s going to have the effect that Jacqui wants.

Jake: Me either. We’re going to see two of the fastest women in all of Future Shock competing one on one for a shot at the Diamond Championship. Coincidentally, these two met in the opening round of the tournament that crowned the first Diamond Champion.

Gia: I think this is going to be a very interesting rematch. Anna may be the quietest Cortez triplet, but she’s more than a match for her sisters when it comes to talent. Now, I don’t know if Carys is the quietest McFarlane, but what I said about Anna’s talent rings true for the Human Pinball as well. Anna wants a chance to prove herself, but I know Carys is looking to right the wrongs that lead to her losing the Diamond Championship at the hands of Cait Flanagan back at Crossed Out last year. So I don’t know if Anna’s ability can outlast Carys’ experience and determination, but I know it’s going to be a great match and Anna will give Carys the fight of her life.

Jake: The Anarchy Championship will be on the line in a Falls Count Anywhere match. And that’s anywhere inside the Qudos Bank Arena. The new champion, Madyson Stone, will be defending against the last Ultraviolence Champion of FFW before the title was retired.

Gia: That’s no small challenge for Madyson Stone, but I have faith in the middle Stone sister. Charlotte Harker will certainly be trying to teach her a lesson in how hardcore is done, given her past history, but I think Madyson’s got a good handle on it. After all, Destiny is also a pretty experienced specialist, and Madyson was able to overcome her, even with her having Nyx’s help.

Jake: Speaking of Nyx, she’s also booked for Sydney to face the woman who just recently defeated her...puppeteer? I don’t know exactly what that relationship entails, and i”m alright with that. Either way, Nyx will be meeting another of the Future Shock roster who will be coming home...Luci!

Gia: The only Australian on the show who I can understand the hometown crowd rooting for, honestly. Nyx is a special breed of crazy so Luci’s going to have to watch her back. We’ve seen Nyx use that unpredictability and alternate sense of reality to her advantage, but I think Luci will be able to counter the crazy and teach Nyx a lesson, just like she did to Destiny.

Jake: Hopefully she’ll leave the teapot with concrete at home. We got two big tag matches on the show, and the first one we’ll discuss features FFW’s Unity Champions, NHB, meeting the Wicked Storm of SVW. This all began months ago when the Storm interrupted a Unity title shot at one of our events, and mushroomed into Vee stealing Angela’s wedding ring while she was competing to try to get a title shot. The titles are not on the line here, and Angela has her ring back, but I don’t think that’s going to temper the storm coming in Sydney.

Gia: Always a good time when NHB returns to Future Shock to compete, and if you want to see more evidence of Wicked Storm being the actual worst, check out SVW Unlimited. I don’t know how Vee has managed to keep her job at the commentary table, because I would’ve put her through it by this point. Kristina and Michelle aren’t any better than she is, and it’s going to be great to see NHB give them everything they deserve and more for the chaos they’ve caused.

Jake: Agreed. It’s not often that we get both the FFW and Future Shock tag champs on the same show. But here we are! The Future Shock Tag Titles are up for grabs when the Doomsday Sisters try to end the reign of the Shaolin Belles in Sydney. And after Angelina got cuffed to the ring post the last time they shared the ring, I suspect this is going to be all about some vengeance for her. And if those stakes weren’t high enough, Arabella could put points on the board for England in Global Wars if they retain! That’s a whole lot riding on this one.

Gia: I think between Arabella’s desire to bring Global Wars home for England, and Angelina being straight up pissed off at what happened to her in their previous meeting, the Doomsday Sisters are in for a rough homecoming.

Jake: Do you think it’ll be difficult for the Belles considering they may not be the fan favorites coming into this match in this city? They could be getting booed like the Sisters do everywhere else.

Gia: I think it’ll bother Arabella more than it will Angelina - after all, Angelina’s been booed before by crowds, and no one in the locker room is likely to let her forget it anytime soon. I think they’ll overcome it, though. After all, they know that anywhere else in the world, they’d have the crowd behind them a hundred percent. And I’m certain that there are going to be more than a few Shaolin Belles fans in attendance, despite the hometown favoritism.

Jake: Well yeah, like us! To call this a supershow is no understatement. October 19th will mark one of the biggest cards in Future Shock history with a lot on the line. This is also the last big event of 2021 for this roster as we start to close out the year. So I feel confident everyone on this card is going to want to show up and show out.

Gia: I agree with you there, Jake! I can’t wait to see what jaw-dropping moments come out of this show. I feel like every year is better than the last, and these shows started out great, so our sixth one is bound to be phenomenal.

Jake; I do have some late breaking news that is going to further add to this show. Some of you have noticed me tweeting about a new title on the horizon that can and will be defended between both the FFW and Future Shock rosters. Well I have it on good authority that the title will be revealed officially and announced in Sydney. Imagine that, Gia. A title that one of our roster can travel to FFW to defend or vice versa.

Gia: I’m all about it. It’ll be the first cross-brand title we’ve ever had, and it’s going to open up a world of opportunities for women on both rosters.

Jake: There’s another reason you want to see this show. That’s all I know about that particular bit of news, so I’m curious to hear more. Make sure you’ve signed up for FFW All Access so you can see the Sydney Supershow. Big thanks to the Javits Center for letting us do our show from here. We’ll see you all in Sydney. In the meantime, Gia….

He gets up from his seat, and offers her a hand.

Jake: Let’s go see the booths, shall we?

Gia takes his hand and uses it to pull herself to her feet.

Gia: I thought you’d never ask.

The pair head off camera before we see a quick recap of the card. After Shock fades off the air after that.
